Robotic-assisted heart surgery also offers a minimally-invasive alternative to open heart surgery that has many advantages over traditional heart surgery. Instead of the large zipper-like incision, splitting of the breast bone and lengthy recovery time which results from traditional open surgery, robotic heart surgery involves only four small incisions.
